IGRs can cause adult fleas to become incapable of reproducing and eggs to fail to hatch. Larvae also die before they reach maturity. Only the adult fleas survive the IGR’s effects are the problem. Enclosures – You can choose the location that your dog or cat roams after leaving the safety of your home. Fleas can be less common in cat and dog enclosures. Shade also needs to be provided but veer away from moist areas where the parasites often flourish. You can reduce the likelihood of your pet getting fleas by keeping them out of your yard.
