High-Cannabidiol Cannabidiol Cannabidiol Cannabidiol Extracts for Epilepsy, and Other Conditions

There has been an increase in news coverage regarding medicinal cannabis oil in 2013. This includes reports from CNN, ABC, CBS, CBS, and local media about high-cannabidiol cannabis oils effectively controlling the symptoms rare epileptic conditions like Dravet and Doose, infantile spasms as well as cortical dysplasia and infantile spasms. These conditions can lead to hundreds of thousands of seizures per week and also affect development in many other ways. These conditions can be very difficult for children and their families. Due to Dravet’s complex nature, traditional pharmaceuticals often fail to treat the condition and make it worse. Families turned to high CBD cannabis oil to find relief.

To clarify, high-CBD cannabis oil is non-psychoactive and apparently even more beneficial than high-THC cannabis oil. Cannabidiol is another cannabinoid in the cannabis plant, like the more well-known psychoactive cannabinoid THC, with significant research suggesting neuroprotectant, anticancer, antidiabetic, anti-ischemic, antispasmodic, antipsychotic, and antibacterial properties, among others. Additionally, cannabis oil can be extracted from cannabis. Such oil contains large amounts of concentrated cannabinoids that can be orally ingested rather than smoked, preserving the medicinal compounds and allowing them to be delivered through digestive system, rather than the respiratory system.

CBD appears to have panacea-like effects, according to research. On August 11th, 2013, Sanjay Gupta released a documentary on CNN about Charlotte Figi. Charlotte was a Dravet syndrome young patient. She had 300 grand mal seizures per week. This number cannot be reduced by any medications or diet. Charlotte’s parents learned about high-CBD cannabis oil, and after literally the first dose, Charlotte’s seizures stopped. She has now experienced a minimum of three minor seizures per calendar month. This is an extraordinary case and not something that’s common. Dr. Margaret Gedde from Colorado Springs is keeping track of 11 new patients at Stanely brothers’ high-CBD medication. 9 of them experienced seizures reductions of 90-100%. Again, this is amazing.

CBD is being used to treat epileptic syndromes that are complex and have not been treated with any pharmaceuticals. High-CBD cannabis is able to immediately reduce symptoms. It also has systemic benefits, such as increased energy, better learning, and improved behavior.

It is not surprising that these results have been documented for many years. Researchers have shown cannabinoids are effective in treating epilepsy. There is also evidence that they can help control and eliminate other serious diseases. And in practice, for epilepsy and these other conditions, the results are translating to humans. Over the years, people have managed to eliminate cancers and treat other diseases, such as Crohn’s disease, diabetes, fibromyalgia or heart disease. This is as serious as it gets, and more attention must be brought to this issue.
