1. What was the motivation of Engineer Ruben Rojkés to start out when he created Avanco?

AVANCO is an acronym that comes from advancing by building. I’m a civil engineer and construction could be a passion for me. I decided to maneuver forward in life, building, creating, that’s what I’m passionate about. After I ask myself, Ruben, what is what causes you to fill the most fulfilled regarding your work, I’m not passionate regarding shopping for and selling only, I would like to build, manufacture, develop a product, that’s what I love.

2. What obstacles did you face in the first years of your business?

The dearth of owned capital, I had to inspire investors and banks to join my projects, but in order to tempt them I had to offer them an vital participation in the Real Estate business. It had been arduous but it positively helped me in the beginning.

3. What was your first successful project?

It was the primary building I engineered that I launched virtually twenty eight years ago; it was a terribly small building, in the street San Luis 77. It consisted of solely 11 units with one or 2 bedrooms, with a lobby and 2 upper floors, while not elevator. I sold it quickly. It was my 1st work, and thank God, all the works I’ve got done have been successful and fully sold.

4. What is one method in that operating a business these days is the same as fifteen years ago, and one approach in which it’s totally different?

When the activity began it was in the year ninety two (My son Diego Rojkés was born, these days he is an architect!). At that stage, Argentina was rising from a hyperinflation and it had ten years of exchange stability, where one may finance a project in US dollars while not any risk for the customer or the seller. It was easier than now, more predictable.

It was a period in Argentina when mortgage loans existed and it had been easier and less risky to finance, purchase materials and pay wages.

Today it’s very tough for folks to just accept financing in bucks, there are continuous changes in costs, salaries, services, and one is wanting for an index of activity that allows us to finance clients and continue working. In my case is the CAC, which is an index of worth variation of the Argentine Chamber of Construction

As of these days mortgage credit will not exist in Argentina.

5. How does one manage the balance between family life and your work?

I think family must be considered as the foremost vital COMPANY we tend to have, that implies that we tend to must make sure of it, dedicate time to them, correct if one makes an error, fancy it. My family is my support, my motivation, I fancy it very abundant, and I always strive to make time to share with them. I enjoy spending time with my wife and children. While my children are grown, we still share a heap of good times. I always build time those moments, with trips, meals, or enjoying sports with them.
